The Capstone Hubs program at HubPages encourages authors to pick a narrowly defined niche and write 15 hubs, and top it off with what they call a “Capstone”.
You get $25 for pulling it off (and an extra $15 if you meet a traffic goal). Not much money compared to the amount of work you put in, but I see it as an incentive. I’m encouraged to write these hubs, which are still mine when it’s all done. I will continue to get 60% pageviews for my Adsense, Amazon and Ebay affiliates.
So the way I see it, I’m going to get $40 to do something I should have done anyway.
I’ve recently completed my second series, on the Roman Empire. It was a lot of fun covering a period of history which I’ve been interested in since a young boy. And I think that’s the key, choose a topic that you know a lot about or REALLY interests you enough to do some indepth research.
I’ve had a few ideas for different subjects to cover for my next project. Due to the 100 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge I haven’t had cause to temporarily put aside the Capstone hub building, in fact I’ll be coinciding a few of the topics with the Challenge. Yep, that’s right, I’ve been greenlit to do my next SIX Capstone serials.
