HubLove Competition Grand Finale!

hublove.gifOn Tuesday I received word from HubPages HQ that I am to judge on Friday 14th (Saturday morning here in Australia) the second last day of the intense month of awesomeness that is known as the HubLove Competition.

The competition has been quite a thrill, if not for the competitors but also the spectators. A lot of quality content is being produced. The final five from each heat isn’t the best of the best. It’s the best of the best of the best!

I made a note of checking the leaderboard on Tuesday evening after receiving notification of my judging duties and we seem to have a two horse race.

Between Stacie (280 points) and Whitney (277 points). A 3 point lead which is anything but comfortable. It’s still anyones game.

I’ve requested Jason from HubPages to send me just the list of the five finalists URL’s and NOT their author names. Come Saturday I shall go to one of my own hubs and stick a few well placed post-it notes on my computer screen… over my profile details. And then I shall open each of the five hubs. Which will mean that the post-it notes will be over their profile details. (Update: I’ll be resting a book against my notebook screen instead).

It’s been such a closely contested competition I’d like to focus on the quality of the hubs rather than any undue influence by who the author is. There’s no guarantee that either Stacie or Whitney will be in the top five on Friday with only one day to go, so my judging may not influence the outcome of who wins the $5,000 package, but I thought doing it this way would be the best and fairest approach.

Now I just have to remind my wife to kick me out of bed early on Saturday morning.
