Bigger! Better?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Starting tomorrow the Text/Write Module will be new and improved.

Instead of a 2,500 character limit it will be increased to… 10,000 characters!

A lot of Lensmasters have been asking for an increase. Personally I could have used an extra 500 characters on the odd occasion.

But an extra 7,500?

Talk about being spoilt!

My only fear is some people won’t make the effort to slice up their information into easy to swallow and digest bite sized pieces.

But otherwise it’s a little more freedom and room to move for those active in Lensmaking.

Spam topics banned at Squidoo

Posted by Glen @ 12:28 AM, Thursday Sep 6th, 2007

sushi squidPretty much anything to do with drugs, herbal supplements, enhancement pills… are banned at Squidoo.

If you make a lens on such a topic you’ll soon find the lens locked and later deleted. Don’t expect any special considerations.

Understand that for the most part prescription drugs aren’t allowed to be discussed or promoted on pages that have Adsense ads on them. So that’s a good start for a legitimate reason behind the banning of such words.

It would be wise though to avoid the terms even in a lens that has nothing to do with the topic.

Also the list is filled with keywords that are often heavily represented by professional spammers. Squidoo wants to stick around for a long time so the powers that be will do what they can to make sure that we’re all around five years from now rather than be slapped silly for short term gain.

These are likely to be some of the words banned at Squidoo…

cialis
cyclobenzaprine
fioricet
hoodia
levitra
paxil
phentermine
tramadol
valium
viagra
xanax

Are there others that you suspect or convinced are on the list? Add them here. There’s also a poll asking “Should Squidoo HQ share the list so we know which ones to avoid?”.

Be sure to vote.
