Go Fish! Page Not Found

| February 15, 2013 | 0 Comments More

frustratingSince our conception back in 2007 as a social bookmarking site exclusive to Web2.0 properties such as Squidoo there have been many, many changes.

Probably the biggest change when it comes to Squidoo is the tighter enforcement of original content standards for their site. Their Originality Pact states that they will actively “help remove low-quality, aggressively non-original lenses”.

This is fantastic to know but it sure caused a bit of a problem here at Lensroll. It seems there are fishes a foot.

Fishes you say?

Yep. I’m sure you are all aware of Squidoo’s creative 404 page. If not then let me fill you in.

As you may already know, a 404 error page is displayed when a certain page of site has been moved, deleted or simply doesn’t exist. If you’ve never seen Squidoo’s 404 page then your in for a treat. It has the image of a green-bodied, one-eyed, Muno looking thing on it. Hideous looking thing!

Squidoo 404

This image is personally very annoying to us. Yes, it’s cute and does fit the Squidoo theme. Very creative 404 page indeed. But enough is enough.

Here’s the deal. Since Squidoo has started enforcing original content and either locks lenses, deletes them or perhaps a member deletes a lens the image you see above is a result of  of those actions.

That’s where you come in. This green ‘fish’ looking thing haunt’s pages of Lensroll. If while browsing the pages of the Lensroll directory and you happen upon this little guy kindly let us know and we will remove the link.  There is nothing worse than following a link only to find this hideous creature staring back at you!

Thanks
