Purplestarred!

My Basic HTML Lens is one of the first batch of lenses to be awarded a Purple Star. Go me!

While it is an honour I feel immensely blessed by the daily guestbook messages and emails I get from other members, both new and old, thanking me for the HTML help. If I ever had cause to feel down or depressed a visit to my own guestbook would be in order to raise my spirits :)

What exactly is the Purple Star?

First off, after seeing some feedback, it is NOT a permanent lensrank boost that never wears off.

According to Squidoo HQ: The lens gets a generous one-time editorial turboboost in LensRank.

Read that again: The lens gets a generous ONE-TIME editorial turboboost in LensRank.

One-time is NOT all-time.

The boost will no doubt give a person more exposure, and with it other chances for Lensrank increases (being “five-starred”, or ‘angel blessed” and indeed being visited (traffic) and once that ebbs (which may take a while) you’re likely to see the purple-starred lens sink a little. But it’s not going to have a permanent advantage because of a purple star. Only the drawing power of the content will do that.

So let me say once more, Purple Stars do not carry a permanent lensrank boost. They get a one-time boost.
