Great info on some of the potential alternatives. I have to wonder, at least in the US if everyone just downsized their vehicles if we could achieve a some of the immediate effects we need until other alternatives can be implemented in large scale? It seems to be in our own hands to that extent.

I've thought about those fuel cell kits that you can add to your existing vehicle. It makes your car run on water and gas! Making your gas mileage improve greatly.
